Meet Dr. Kristin Reed
As the daughter of a dentist and dental hygienist, Dr. Reed has had the unique opportunity to be part of dentistry her entire life. She understands that many people are fearful of the dentist and may have even had a previous bad experience. Dr. Reed strives to alleviate those fears by getting to know each patient in a relaxing and fun environment while providing the excellent care her patients deserve.
For her undergraduate education she attended Maryville College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Spanish. Upon completion of her senior thesis at Maryville College, her research was published in the Journal of Adhesive Dentistry. She then attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, graduating with honors. Following graduation, Dr. Reed completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Before joining University General Dentistry in 2017, she practiced as an associate dentist for eight years in a group practice in Columbia, SC.
Outside the Office
Dr. Reed and her husband Paul were thrilled to join the Tuscaloosa community in 2017 when he became an assistant professor in the Department of Communicative Disorders at the University of Alabama. Dr. Reed is honored to serve the Tuscaloosa community as a member of the United Way of West Alabama Campaign Cabinet and as a board member with Tuscaloosa International Friends, and the Good Samaritan Clinic.
